When we love others, we are tempted to protect or do the most for them. Sometimes, you may feel obligated, other times too, you feel doing those things will earn you some favors and this makes us go overboard to defend and say things or go against the law to save our loved ones.
The next time you are pushed to take a bullet for someone, whenever you are asked to lead anything on behalf of anybody, first ask yourself, what is in this for me? Do you even believe in that ideology you are being sent to push? If the answer is a no, then reevaluate the decision and put yourself first.
Recognize the reasons why you should prioritize self-preservation and protect yourself and that of your family members because when you go down, only you and your family suffers.
The Case of President Trump and his Lawyer, Michael Cohen.

Daniels. This will later entangle Cohen and Trump in a series of lawsuits, jail
times and indictments throughout President Trump’s tenure and several years
down the line.
When this private transaction made its way into the public domain, he was thrown under the bus. President Trump denied ever knowing any deals and everything that has to do with the Hush payments. He also denied directing Michael to make any payments on his behalf. With the political regime establishment zeal to hang President Trump anyhow they could, they tried to use this to smear the president and possibly impeach and remove him from office. Fact is the career politicians could not believe how Trump could beat them at the polls and vowed to remove him from office. This made Michael Cohen the subject of several investigations from all angles such as the Senate and the House intelligence committees and the special council set to probe the Russian collusion hoax which will later be revealed it was a fake dossier cooked by the Hilary Clinton campaign.
Most people thought Cohen was taking a bullet for the then new president of the United States, who may come through for him by potentially helping him or influencing his political connections to ease his predicaments but that was not the case. The Trump organization paid some of his legal fees but not all. At this point the president had to stay clear from him to avoid further troubles so he didn’t provide any help even if he could. With this entanglement, Cohen couldn’t even get any access to the Trump white house.
Cohen had to lie to cover up for his former client when he decided to run for president, but he was left out when President Trump was assembling his team.
Michael was going through all these troubles and eventually served time in jail and was disbarred. At this same time, the president and all his three adult children and their spouses were in the white house in charge of the country’s affairs.
Seven years later, after Michael had done his time in jail with some plea deals, some of his pronouncement will end up trapping now former president Trump. Mr. Trump has announced he’s running for president for the third time but he’s been indicted with Michael Cohen as the star witness.
President Trump has to defend himself against the allegations by Michael Cohen. The funny part here is that, the new lawyers for President Trump are calling Michael, wait for it, a convicted liar. Others call him a pathological liar and an ex-convict when he went to jail by lying to protect his client, President Trump.
Cohen has now lost his license to practice law and he is currently unemployed. Occasionally he will appear on liberal channels such as CNN as a commentator talking only about President Trump. Soon no one will care about what he thinks about Trump. When this happens, what will he do? He’s lost his license to practice his job, his credibility and respect is gone and his children may not be able to navigate with his baggage. He has now deferred from the Republic party to the Democratic Party and may probably lose many friends in his former party. It is possible he may not be trusted by his new party members. This man may be hanging in the balance. Meanwhile the Trump family went on to the White House even his son in law became billion dollars richer for the four years he spent in the White House.
Do you also remember how our very own honorable Kennedy Agyapong had to suffer humiliation and years long legal tussle when he took a bullet for all Ghanaians especially victims of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ criminal entrapment? Just imagine if it had been anybody else? Imagine if it was you? There is no way you could have survived as star witnesses even lost their lives in this fight. This cost Mr Agyapong time, money and humiliation. This goes to show only a powerful rich man like Mr. Kennedy Agyapong could save Ghanaians.

Mr Trump may return to the White House. He and his family may go to the White House to redeem themselves in the events that they win the 2024 general elections. Trump has and will continue to build a solid foundation for his family, his grandchildren will go ahead to become prominent people in the political scene because of their powerful name but Michael Cohen’s children may not get this opportunity.
He lied to protect a United States sitting president and he still could not be saved.
If as humans, we break promises we make to ourselves, how then do we defend others blindly when we actually do not know the truth? Remember, you can only defend what you know. It is also important to know that, not all the information you receive are accurate and most of the time, what you are being asked to do is mostly for the good of the one who asked you. Be alert and think for a second about the consequences and ask yourself if you have the potential to save yourself if things go south. Cohen is trying out legal means to get the Trump organization to pay off the remainder of his legal fees and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong had to foot all his legal fees by himself. Remember who you are and know when to pull the breaks and stop!
